The Leeds, That! website on desktop and mobile: the three presenters on the homepage, and the fixtures page on a phone.

Before

Leeds, That! is a Leeds United podcast with more than 350 episodes since 2019. Its website ran on Squarespace. Every new episode had to be added by hand. The page most fans came for, the fixtures list, was somebody else’s widget dropped into the page. And the episodes themselves were audio only, with nothing a fan could read or search.

After

The site now looks after itself. It publishes each new episode on its own, with a full transcript. Fixtures, results and the league table are proper pages, and a matchday banner builds as kick-off gets closer. The presenters write articles in a simple editor, and a drafting tool suggests new ones from what was said on the pod.

The Leeds United fixtures page: the next match against Arsenal, a link to the latest episode, and the upcoming fixtures list.
The fixtures page: the next match in plain words, with the latest episode beside it.

How we got there

  • We started with what fans come for. Most visitors arrive looking for the fixtures. So that page was rebuilt first, and it now points them to the latest episode.
  • Nothing was lost in the move. Old links and bookmarks still land in the right place.
  • AI does the legwork, and people make the call. Every episode is transcribed automatically. Article drafts arrive with their quotes checked word for word against the transcript, and a list of facts for a presenter to tick off before anything goes live.
